Weekend in review

Our weekend started off great! Kevin and I took off work Friday to float the Buffalo River. We normally kayak but decided to take a canoe. This was my first ever float trip in a canoe. I have to say that it was fun because I really didn't have to paddle or anything but I really missed my kayak.

We spent most of the day fishing. The fishing was not good at all but I did manage to catch a few.

Saturday

Saturday morning was busy. I woke up and headed to Farmer's Market on the square to load up on some garden goodies. After that I headed home to make pancakes for the family. I also made homemade salsa and cookies. Reggie helped me bake the cookies and he even made this huge cookie.

I made the salsa that Leslie from Blonde Ambition posted to her blog.  It was my first time to ever make salsa. It will not be my last either. The only downfall to making fresh salsa with garden veggies is that I eat the whole jar myself. Yeah I made this Saturday morning and it was gone by Sunday night. Here is the link to Leslie's blog in case you need a good salsa recipe. http://www.blondeambitionblog.com/

The kids went to the Springfield Cardinal baseball game Saturday evening with their Papa Bill and Uncle Jordan. The Cardinals won 8 to 0. Reggie says "The Cardinals whooped The Naturals pants off". While the kiddos were at the game Kevin and I enjoyed an afternoon out by the pool.

Sunday Funday

Sunday started off with a trip to Daisy Queen for ice cream. Then we headed to the River for a picnic lunch. River was a little too muddy due to the rain so we didn't stay long.

Soo we packed up and headed to the pool!

A day in the life of .... ME

My Thursday!

5:22 a.m. - Wake up time for me today. I had my alarm set for 5:15 a.m. and was actually up and out of bed at 5:22 a.m. This my friends is a new record. I normally hit snooze for at least 30 minutes. Normally this is the time I flip through Instagram, Twitter and Facebook but no time for that today.

5:23 a.m. - First thing I do when I get up is turn Pandora on the Roku. It is set to Today's hits this week. This helps get me going. Next is shower time.

5:30 a.m. - Wake Katelynn up. Yep! 5:30 a.m. on a summer day. She is playing volleyball in Huntsville today. The bus is leaving the HS gym at 6:30 a.m. so she has to be there by 6:15 a.m..

5:32 a.m - Fold clothes that are in the dryer from the night before. I do this pretty much every morning. Now I get ready except my hair. I try and let my hair air dry for as long as possible.

5:55 a.m. - Time to leave house. We have to stop by ATM to get money for Katelynn and then McD's for Katelynn's favorite breakfast which is Biscuits and Gravy with a Dr. Pepper. Beautiful morning!!

6:13 a.m. - Drop off Katelynn and head back home to finish getting ready and get Reggie up and half way ready.

7:20 a.m. - Leave house for work. But first I gotta stop by Neighbor's Mill for a white chocolate mocha. This is much needed today. Then my next stop is Grandma Marcie and Papa's house to drop Reggie off. Reggie and Katelynn stay there during the summer while I work.

7:40 a.m. - Start work day. My goal for the morning is to get all of my emails caught up before lunch. I won't bore you with work details. Just alot of spreadsheets etc..

9:29 a.m.- Get Lync message from my Husband asking me if I want to take the day off tomorrow to go floating. I don't even have to think about my response back to him! YES!! Soo looks like today is officially my Friday!!

11:22 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Lunch break. This includes my gym time. I go to the gym almost everyday on my lunch break. It is really the best time that works for my schedule with the kids activities and all. It's almost impossible to go after work. I spend 10 minutes on my target area then 20 minutes on the treadmill or elliptical.  I live close to work and the gym so I have time to swing by the house for a quick bite to eat. Kev normally has a turkey burger and rice waiting on me or we just eat left overs. Yep he is pretty awesome like that.

12:31 p.m. - 5:00 - Back to work. My goal this afternoon was to get the paperwork off my desk. I like to have a clean desk come Monday mornings.

4:37 p.m. - Katelynn won all of her games but one. Here are a couple of pics I stole from another Mom's facebook page - Thanks Kelly! I hate that I couldn't make it to the games today but it was soo nice to see pics of them online.

5:00 p.m. - I'm freeee!! Time to head home but first there has been this Pinterest project that I have been dying to do so I went to Home Depot for the supplies.  Here is the pinterest link to the project http://www.pinterest.com/pin/233694668139123701/

5:33 p.m.  - Home. And of course I wanted to start on my project right away. And big shout out to my wonderful Husband for helping me with the Hog outline. I really should have took pics of the whole process. WPS!!!

                                        This was my goal:

This is my final product:

6:20 p.m. - Finished with project! That took no time at all. Now I have this cute blanket to take to beach, picnic or tailgate party!

6:30 p.m. - Katelynn is on the bus headed back home from Huntsville. Both her and Reggie ask to stay the night with their grandparents. I give in since Kev and I are going floating early in the a.m.

6:30 p.m. - 10:22 p.m. - eat dinner. laundry. kitchen clean up. RELAX

10:22 p.m. - Bedtime

Workout Wednesday

Since working out is part of my everyday routine I wanted to share some of my favorite workouts. This week I'm focusing on abs! I go to the gym almost everyday during my lunch break but have neglected my abs for several months now. I am a HUGE fan of Cassey Ho with Blogilates She has a ton of online workouts that are awesome and soo easy to do right in your own living room. This 14 minute video is my new favorite right now. It was uploaded 2 days and I've done it twice already. Be prepared to feel the burn about halfway through this.

4th of July Recap

Soo Thursday was the longest work day ever! I guess that was because I spent the day watching the clock. I couldn't wait to get outta there and head to the lake. 5 o'clock finally came and off to the lake we went. Kevin's Mom and Dad were camping at Diamond City all week so we joined them for dinner and fireworks. Reggie had been with Kevin's Mom and Dad all day and enjoyed the day tubing with his cousins. He even tried knee boarding!

Baseball. Baseball. Baseball.
Friday we left Harrison around 11:30 am to head to Siloam Springs for the 7-8 year old Cal Ripken State Baseball Tournament. Soo first let us take a road trip selfie....

We had 1 game on Friday(we won) and 2 games(we lost both) on Saturday. I'm not sure what place we ended up but we were soo proud of our boys. The fence surrounding the field was way too tall and I didnt get to take any photos with my Nikon but I did manage to get a few with my iPhone through the fence.

My Dad

Friday and Saturday night was soo much fun with the team. The boys swam and played ball all night long at the hotel. From our hotel parking lot we could see the fireworks from the Naturals game.

Saturday we had a 3 hour break between games. We ate lunch then took a drive to downtown Siloam Springs. There we found Twin Springs Park. Reggie said this was one of his favorite memories of the weekend. We seen 2 snakes, 3 snapping turtles, 2 frogs, tadpoles and a bunch of fish.

Katelynn didn't get to come with us this weekend. She was in Conway visiting her Dad and cousins. She said she spent alot of time eating out, shopping and spending time at the Lake. I'm soo happy she had a blast.

Soo that was a glimpse of our weekend.
